I stumbled across this podcast as I wanted more Rory Bremner. What I found delighted me because the host has a fantastic podcast voice and manner. It is wonderful if you want more time to hear from some very interesting entertainers. I would recommend highly.

I have only had two proper jobs. After cutting my teeth booking talent into bingo halls and holiday camps I founded JLA back in 1990, flogging a new wave of stand-ups for recession-weary audiences. The agency soon started signing up politicians and luminaries, and turned into 'The UK's leading speaker bureau.' (Financial Times)
Aside from comedians I've been lucky enough to represent pillars of the Establishment and anti-Establishment as well as experts in this, that and the other. The client list included Mark Carney, William Hague and Boris Johnson before he entered No.10; heads of the army, police and MI5; and mainstays of the TV schedule from Ian Hislop and Steph McGovern to Brian Cox. I've flattered Hollywood legends, heard lots of secrets and been sworn at by a prominent (current) Ambassador. The explorer Ran Fiennes was kind enough to call me 'the doyen of the speaker circuit' in his autobiography.
Along the way I've rocked the boat on the Agents' Association Council and the governing body of pool, for whom I had a deservedly brief stint as an ITV presenter. I also succeeded in losing money on a Gyles Brandreth stage musical and Tony Hawks' film of Round Ireland with a Fridge. (The problem was Tony deciding to play himself – my role as a daytime gameshow host really wasn't the worst performance!)
To fulfil a promise to myself I stood for Parliament in 2024 as an anti-extremist Independent. After a five week campaign combined with moving house (that's my excuse), the good people of Bury St Edmunds saw fit to give me a modest 819 votes. Since then I've launched the Just Between Us podcast as an excuse to chat to my favourite talent and share a lorry load of behind-the-scenes stories. And to avoid being mistaken for the bestselling chef.
